Who we are
Dr. Cami Hollins, EdD, MS, OTR/L, BCCS
I was born and raised in South Dakota. I married my husband of 24 years, Matt, and we have two children, 17 and 13. I received my Doctor of Education from Northcentral University and my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Mary. I am also a Board Certified Cognitive Specialist. In 22 years of professional experience, I have treated patients across their lifespans, including the geriatric and adult populations and school-based pediatrics. As a mom of two dynamically different learners, I love learning and am passionate about meeting clients where they are in their abilities. As a therapist, I love facilitating growth, recovery, and success in life. It gives me great joy to see the progress of every client I get the privilege of working with. I am excited to expand our exceptional services to the area. When I am not spending time with family, I enjoy reading, cross-stitching, and spending time in nature, at the lake, camping, or on the beach.
Barb Runia - Academy Director
I was born and raised in Southwest Minnesota. I have been married for 37 years and have seven children aged 18 to 36. Four of whom were added through special needs adoptions. Added to this lovely chaos are three grandchildren. After a 33-year stint working in healthcare as a health information management professional, I found the need for a change. I have loved working with students and watching them grow in their skills. As the Academy Director, I approach this role from the perspective of a parent who has faced the same struggles with my kids’ learning. I see the positive progress the therapeutic educational approach has made in student success in life and school. I am excited to share their educational journal with each student and the families involved.

I grew up in southeast Sioux Falls, then moved to Omaha, Nebraska, in 2013. I am attending college in Sioux Falls, majoring in psychology at the University of Sioux Falls, hoping to become a counselor! I joined the staff at Embrace Learning Academy because I wanted to do something more aligned with my interests and love for kids! I am excited to continue growing with both the academy and the students I work with.
